For those who can't overcome a bad habit, but wants to reduce to the minimum the harm from smoking, in the twenty-first century were invented electronic cigarette. The one of principal parts electronic cigarette structure is ultrasonic atomizer of nicotine liquid, with the addition of tobacco taste, also are electronic cigarettes based on cold vapor generator. The steam is generated from the flavored liquid with nicotine or without it.
According to the manufacturers, electronic cigarettes allows you to control both physical (cartridges with different nicotine content) and psychological (ritual of smoking) dependence.
The FDA report about e-cigarettes, emphasizes the facts that the use of this technological trends may pose a serious harm to human health. The effects of e-cigarette smoking on human body are practically unknown. Furthermore, there are no clear standards of product quality and data about the composition of liquids for e-cigarettes.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has urged Americans to refrain from the use of electronic cigarettes, tells WebMD. According to experts of this organization, the use of these devices is not a safe alternative to smoking ordinary tobacco cigarettes.
The FDA employees tested 19 cartridges of two manufacturers of electronic cigarettes. The study established numerous inconsistencies between the actual indicators of harmful substances and those specified by the manufacturer.
Except one, all the cartridges sold as non nicotine, actually contained harmful substances. The amount of nicotine in cartridges of different groups (high, medium, and low nicotine content) differed regardless of affiliation to a group specified by the manufacturer.
Moreover, in one of the cartridges has been found a toxic substance commonly used as antifreeze (diethylene glycol). While using, electronic cigarettes emitted nitrosamines which are carcinogenic and other harmful impurities.
According to the FDA, the tested devices were found irrelevant to the law on consumer protection. Officially, the FDA's jurisdiction can't be applied on electronic cigarettes. Currently, manufacturers of these devices defend their unaccountability to supervisory authorities in court.
